  • Looking good for this weekend...?

Forecast looks promising so far for this weekend, Sunday in particular - if you trust Magic Seaweed that is! Tides work out canny too so not too early of a start and no rushing in or out to catch sunlight etc.

Would be nice to get out to a flat sea. We managed to get out for an hour or so last week, first trip of the year, but there was nowt doing fish-wise. Mind you Im not expecting much at this time of year, but its nice to be out at least and its all re-assurance that your engine etc. is working ok for the season ahead.

Would there be any point in shadding yet? We will be taking lures and baits but I really want to have another crack with the shads. Since I don't know much about them I wasn't sure if there was a right time if year to be using shads or if Id be wasting my time.

Anyways, good luck to anyone who gets out - here's hoping it turns out to be a canny day!

    All the best.

Hmmm... forecast is all over the place, changing all the time on Magic Seaweed! (it even predicted snow when I checked yesterday! ). Still, very light winds predicted on XC weather for Sunday, I just hope it stays that way.

Saw the pics in the your thread canman - looked nice, like a summers day! Really gets you excited for the season ahead!

Well good luck to anyone that gets out anyways, fingers crossed the weather will be as nice as the last couple of days!

            All the best.

Well, needless to say I didn't manage to get out. Forgot it was derby day didn't I! Not that Im really interested in football, especially over fishing, but my mate who I go out with on the boat is so it was a no go!

Weather wasn't nice at all anyways so not to worry - here's hoping next weekend turns out better!

Lucky on those cherished days you get out and are greeted by a flat sea, warm, sunny day... its bliss - but going off last year - it was dreadful! I think I got out about 6 times in total last year (and at least 2 of those were a 'out and straight back in' due to uncomfortable seas). Still had to visit the boat to pump the water out too and that is just torture when all you want to do is go out on her! Very frustrating! That being said however, the harbour I am moored in is tidal and can be a pain in the backside to get out of at the best of times, but then its inexpensive. Can't have it both ways!

....still doesn't put me off owning a boat though! The year before was amazing, we were out just about every week, and every other night after work if the tide/mrs would allow, couldn't have been happier! I'm hoping for another one of those years!

                      Looking good Boat owners

Hi lads there are 2 of us keen anglers myself and billfish4853 would like the chance if there is any room aboard your boats to come out with you lads and really get to know you all. I used to go out on the wanderer at the mariner in sunderland but cannot get a place anywhere so if by any chance a place becomes available to keep us in mind .Thankyou regards Jim
