i had an old 18ft reiver they are a good stable boat on the drift but were nose heavey on the move with a little bit sea on loads of spray over the front the 15ft boats playned better on the water. i have a shetland alasca 16ft for over 14year now no complants about it has seen some big seas and has handled them no probs.

My first boat twenty years ago was a 15foot reiver. It was a great boat but as previous key mentioned a lot of spray came on board in anything other than flat calm conditions. The main thing I didn't like we're the low gunnels, otherwise she was spot on and really shifted with just a 25 ho engine in the back. I was a few stone lighter at 14 years old though! you would have check the hull over properly as it is likely that she will be getting on a bit now, some of the deck boards had to be replaced on mine.
Graham.
