The 14ft dejon Has a really bad reputation on boat forums, for that reason alone, without even setting foot in one I wouldn't have one, specially for the north sea, my first boat was an Orkney 440 , also 14ft , it was very seaworthy but really was too small for the north sea (in my opinion) , I moved up from that to a 165 which is fine for fishing off our coast, as long as great care is taken to watch weather forecasts and sea conditions , having said all that, I now have a 20ft plus boat which feels safer and more comfortable again, so in a nutshell, go for the biggest boat you can.

Stay well clear...no good for sea use!

Someone on WSF lost 3 members of his family due to there terrible seaworthyness...they should only be used on lakes..terrible for rolling.

CJR dory, Wilson Flyer (i will be buying a flyer for my first boat) if you want a fast planing hull and great fishing platform...some people say they can slam when going at high speeds..but its never bothered me.

theres is a few others like our locally made Rievers..there are great boats too also orkneys and then you go up into the bigger money like Predators and so forth
