  • Sea-otter 2 today stevey hoyle takes the money with a 9lb cod

Well with a nice forcast we decide to go out to do a bit of wrecking on 9 mile not quite sure how the water clarity would be after another good swell from the north .
We arrived out on the 9mile around 9 am straight away i noticed a green tint in the water not a good sighn i my hunch was right it was hard work due to the dirty water so i said come on lads we have just 2 cod on board both over 5lb but i think we will get more and bigger fish uptiding we steamed back inshore dropped the ankhor and once again my hunch was right it wasnt fast and furious but some really quality fish the best going to steve hoyle with a nice cod an ounce under 9lb he took the sweep on boat i had one over 7lb myself and a few others over 5lb one lad had 2 over 6lb some really nice fish around.
Out again tommorow with a smaller tide and no swell the water will be clearing overnight gonna give the wrecking another go i think tommorow will be a different day .

    Steve with his 9lb cod.

This lad gets 2 6lbs 2 bonny fish on the light gear.

This lad wanted his mug shot taking.

Cheers norman this time last year the wrecking was fantastic the water was fairly clear but the weather thias last month has kept the water murky even out to 20 mile had a week now to start to clear so fingers crossed on the next set of smaller tides out uptiding wednesday and thursday if not to windy and with the bigger tides again should fish well.

Had this brute uptiding a few years ago it went 28lb caught 500yds off saltwick nab.

Uptiding tommorow so we actually want the murky water but we will be only half a mile or so off the shore, wrecking this weekend weather permitting hopefully clear water now out on 10 mile or even closer.
