  • Fisherman dies in accident info

    Another sad loss.....

A fisherman has died after falling in freezing seas shortly after his vessel Docked at Blyth harbour.

The unidentified man was trapped in freezing waters between his trawler and the harbour wall after slipping from the quayside at Blyth docks.

A fellow crew member dived in to try and help his friend and he is in hospital suffering from hypothermia.

Heard about it on the car radio. Very sad.

    Jim.
Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

Sad news, sounds like it was a freak accident of some sorts.
Quite a few trawlers moored up in the harbour at the minute,don\'t think they are from this area, probably sheltering from the weather as there was about twelve there on Saturday afternoon, they could have been offloading there prawns and decided to stay as the weather turned nasty
      Cheers Alan...

The trawlers are the regular ones from Scotland.
They come in and moor up at the dunn cow just about every night.
