Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

as a basic deckie (deckhand) you have to have 4 basic certificates

        Sea Survival
        First Aid
        Fire Fighting
        Health and Safety for Fishermen

its legal must have. fisheries boarding parties will check the tickets of all the crew as well the catch

if you are signing on there's a pretty good chance the social will pay for them if you need it

there's a couple of prawn trawlers in shields that are after full time crew I believe, and if you have your tickets getting standby/casual work is an option if you are prepared to drop everything when asked

as a complete newcomer you are only likely to get a half share till you've proved yourself, but still a good working wage
