Saw the skipper at the weekend...after a spot of cud chewing we came to the realisation that Slinky is ALREADY fairly well stocked for next season

We bought about 80kg of lead and lost less than a 3rd of it - we've both got bucketfuls of sinkers and pirks and STILL got quite a bit left to melt (Steve...you've also got a load to lose next year mate )

We bought 3 million shads and still have a load left

We've got brand new filleting kives as well

Sooo apart from hokkais and muppets and hooks what do we buy during the quiet time??

Maybe the Cabin Boy needs to put his bocket for the abundance of broken fish boxes he's created this year?

I will be going back to Dynon 3000 55lb next season and I'm going to buying another Fladen Solid Carbon Green (best rod I've ever owned bar none)

But apart from tying a few token rigs it's going to be a quiet "off season" methinks...what to do?
    Ooh a new vid!

Hi Dunk, whereabouts in cyprus ? I'll be there till 27th june

knives we use are the caley ones from caleys on the quayside, originally shown (and given - cheers) these from KeithB and have never looked back.
can get 2 seasons easily out of a knife (filleting) but tend just to keep for one season and then downgrade it to use second season for bait knife.
Only ever sharpen if desperate on a steel but generally only the second year needs sharpening as they are long lasting.
Always believe in the best possible for filleting as it makes it so much easier, even if this means re-newing each year as the cost is minimal (?? £8 or £9 I think ... slight correction (cheers keith) £12 ... still dirt cheap for the quality)

              did I say "bait knife ? .... what's bait???

Next season dunk ... its a booking

It felt weird trying bait last weekend, the first block of squid I've purchased this year and it didn't work, good old pirks!
                Cheers, Keith.
