Does anybody know how to go about getting a job on a charter boat as it's not something you see advertised very often.I presume it's all just word of mouth .it's just I'm sick off the everyday jobs and I have been fishing for 23 years now and have thought about trawler boats etc .just don't know how to get in to it.any help is appreciated. Cheers

Jobs
have a look on FAFB (find a fishing boat) mate, they have as classified section for crew wanted/available.
It's mostly trawlers to be fair but you do see the occasional charter request.
You can leave an advert on there for free too with your details on.
If you fancy a job locally on the trawlers you're best off just going down the quay and having a bit craic with the quay master as they will know who is in need of crew.
Alternatively, if you want to travel 'Caley Fisheries' and 'Denholm Fisheries' in Fraserburgh and Peterhead keep a database of crewmen available for work.
Hope this helps

You'll need a few tickets as a minimum before someone will want you on their boat commercially. Have a look at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/fishing-...n-and-training
if you want to get started.
Good luck.
