Well lads we had our last trip of the year out from Craster with Douggie on board Bon Ami. Trip started really well with promising weater and sea conditions. Here is a view of Dunstanbrough Castle as we left.
[Doug motored up to the point on the hunt for Mackeral and we fished in 30 ft of water.
No mackeral but one of the lads Ian scored with a 4lb Pollack as he reeled in before we moved off. It took a white Sidewinder.
The day was looking canny and the box was filling up. We hit a shoal of big Coalie pulling them up four at a time on hockeyes.
Ian later caught a decent size cod on the shads and so did i.
Best fish of the day was a Ling caught by Peter who as usual won the sweep----------its no surprise as he is a good angler.
A good day but very poor for cod. I caught four or five but only kept two. Some lads had no luck witht he Cod. Still thats fishing for you.
Tight lines Mick. (ps the sealegs worked till 3:30 pm then the ground bait was set by myself due to the sea picking up ha ha).
