  • Amble parking/kayak put in?

I'm thinking of popping up to Amble for some fishing ( probably just around the harbour) with my kayak on Friday, I'm just wondering about where to park and put the boat on the water?

I know there's Amble Marina but I've been told they're pretty sniffy about people with kayaks

I don't mind paying for decent facilities/secure parking

    any ideas please?

    cheers

They don't like kayaks in the marina amongst the boats I think , I often see canoes launching from the boat yard , but they seem to be organised groups rather than the solo kayaker , there's a ramp which slopes into the same area as the marina , but isn't actually part of the marina , if that makes sense , maybe you could ask at the boat yard?
Another alternative is the public slip just round the corner from the marina , I used that before I took a berth in the marina, there is a big public car park and toilets there , we never had any bother with the car or trailer while it was parked there.
Then there is the boat club next to the slip , they might let you use their car park etc and there is a slip there to launch also , all these are within a few hundred yards of each other and no distance from the sea.
If it's a one off I'd just use the public slip and park in the public car park , the car park is free , you are supposed to pay for the use of the slip , but for a yak I doubt there would be any payment , I payed all the time for the slip with my boat but no one ever checked or asked if I had.
    Good luck with the fishing

If you travel up to the caravan park there are a few place to park on the side of the road. . Not sure how secure they would be but they are opposite the caravan park which has security, so it should be fine. I never had any trouble all of the time's I was up there. Which was a lot. Then just a short walk to the beach. Tight lines mate.
