Jester, the salmon season is building up to its best time of year. There’s not too many people hoping for some rain, except anyone who wants to catch a salmon. I took Mark on the river to show me up again today, he pulled out a silvery fresh sea trout whilst nobody else caught anything. Me included. Then to really rub it in he then landed a salmon.
I’ve bought an air horn for the boat, it only cost a tenner from ebay. That and some new LED deck lights need wiring and fitting if the weather keeps us from fishing.
Norman, the flight looked great, are you going for the full pilot’s licence? You could scale up the model aircraft and build a full size one for when you pass.
Wasn't going to post this in here as its not fishing related ...... But Chris's question begs a reply ... ......
I added the third dimension to the experience when I used up my good lady's xmas present to me this week ..........
there's 30 mins or so missing in the middle as I was lost from sight and she stopped filming ..... not a bad shot for her first time "behind" the lens ...
Nice one Norman Had it been me though , I'd have taken some persuading to go in the second one after the first one "failed"
There's a microlight club across the road , the wife has been up in one and one of my lads flew one from here to sunderland when he was 12 , I've been invited a few times , but graciously declined
As for what I've been up to lately , I went to work on Thursday , that was interesting , I quit on Friday , but if it's as windy as the forcast says on Monday ......... I might give it one more try
Met a mackem footballer the other day , I won't say who , but after he asked how I was and I replied "ok till I had to shake hands with a mackem" , he denied being one , he's not such a bad lad really

nee probs ray, I was keen just to go up in the first one the idle would only be used at last point of landing anyway but.... safety first as ever ....... ( we could have always re-started it in the air if need be hahahaha)
but seriously ...... a fantastic experience can't wait for another try, and probably at same airfield ...... cracking place and beautiful old city of Perth - a great couple of days away.
Been a good read this, nice to know we dont all lead boring lives when not fishing. Had a look down my new local last night The Stapylton Arms, and feel a bit worse for wear this morning.
Today i'm gonna have a walk down to Hawthorn Point, see how long it takes and what it will be like with a bag of tackle and a rod on my back.
Ray, On you mentioning shaking hands with a makem footballer. Quite a few years back, the company i was working for had a job fitting a curtain wall screen for Alan Shearer at his 1 bed terraced bungalow. I was summoned to do the job but said i wouldn't do it, so my son got the job.......bit daft now that i think about it......I also had John Berrisford at my house wanting some Wrought Ironwork done......really nice lad he was.......Met Eric Gates a few weeks back, i asked him why he left the legends, and he said he wished he had a quid for every time he was asked that question.......so i still don't know..
Quick move Chris, and internet up and running in no time. I'll still be busy for weeks yet, any way, in answer to your query, I've been digging bait in the hope that the winds will fall away next week and grab a few hours in the boat
Norman, what can I say, another arrow to your bow. Was just watching last night at the proms and thinking, wish they would play 633 squadron, came up stairs and clicked on your video and there it was, spooky Looks great fun, and my congrats to your good lady for such steady hand videoing.
