A quick heads up, if you ever fit a new alternator and everything is fine except the engine won't switch off even if you turn off the ignition key, isolate the electrics and even disconnect the batteries, don't stress, don't loose sleep searching the web for answers at 2am, just invest 4p and fit a diode in the charge lamp line, even if the previous alternator didn't need one.
