    have the chance of a fladen maxximous 60-100lb would this be over kill for jigging and wrecking of our coast

        been to look at them today Alan at Whitby but chickened out didn't think I would be able to hang a sixteen ounce jigger on it, as I say looked very thin, ive therefore bought an ugly stick 20/30lb which looks a little stronger in the tip(it was that or a beastmaster in bright yellow but didn't like the colour)

          I've got the new Blue solid carbon maxximus 20-40lb they are very thin but very very strong I have fished with 1lb leads with no issues at all. Between me and my friends we bought about 5 or 6 of these rods and not one of us has any trouble with them we've had fish to 19lb on them. No need for heavy rods these days

              With lighter rods you can use lighter lines and lighter leads. Your right it is much more fun
