your right dave based on kubota block most of nanni\'s smaller engines are either kubota or toyota I think they use MAN for the larger stuff, have run mainly outboards up until now and have always found Jap stuff to be reliable 17 knots is enough for me these days usualy cant do much more than that with the prevailing conditions up here anyway ,had any amount of fast boats there fun but cant use there speed most of the time without shaking your teeth loose.

And of course you have to take into account the cheaper running costs of a diesel

I normally keep my revs down to 3600 @ 15/16 knots but if I increase to 4500 @ 20 / 21 knots this DOUBLES my fuel burn for little gain . As you say anything over 17knots is normally uncomfortable except on calm days .

yes bob I\'ll be interested in the fuel economy ran a 4 stroke on my last boat very economical for a petrol but wont match diesel of course, having to pay duty on this will narrow the margin but I figure no matter what happens with duty, diesel will pay for itself in the long run not to mention its safer anyway,

fule economy, whats that?? the 2stroke johnson on my little tub can burn 3 or 4 gallons an hour if I give it some!

but flat out at 30k in that thing money is the last thing on your mind, one hand gripping the wheel, the other checking to see if my kidneys have fallen out

duty is another topic Ron , why should we pay it ? We dont drive on any roads and get nothing in return

norman , thats the little handle on your right hand side , the horizontal one which should be vertical :P

I agree dave but its an easy way to swell the coffers for the government also read there are plans been put forward for leisure boaters to contribute a yearly fee towards bouyage and navagational aids add to the proposals to have sea fishing licences and your on to a canny earner if your names Gordon Brown.

not long now Ron, bet you will have a sleepless night tonight in anticipation of your big boys toy arriving tommorow...................as all the lads will agree theres nowt like seeing your new baby coming down towards royal quays on the back of an artic or trailer, the first sight i got of my new boat was coming out of the tyne tunnell on the back of an artic lorry.....what a sight !!!!! Iwas also laughing coz on the radio they said expect delays at the tyne tunnel, they had to close it down for 20 minutes because it was to high and had to have both lanes.........at teatime rush hour!!!!! haa ha
