I used sikaflex on my kayak. Big dollop on the hull, mate them together and work the transceiver down until it touches the hull but make sure there are no air bubbles. Put something weighty on top of the transducer till it's dry.A light sanding of the hull to get it too stick won't hurt either.

I used a marine grade silicone. I would think any chandlery type shop would stock it. A good tip is to cut the shape of the transducer out of a piece of polystyrene or dense foam. Then, placing the cut out piece of foam where you want to fix the tranducer, half fill the hole with the silicone and push the transducer into it. it should squash out any air bubbles.

Good luck, worked atreat for me in the kayak.

Have you got inboard or outboard?
        What sounder have you got?
Is the boat a planing hull?
If you are fitting a P79 or m260/265 they are easy to fit, picking the spot is the hard part.

If it's inboard and your prop turns clockwise then the xducer wants to be on the port side, anti-cw starboard side.
If possible it need to go back and away of the engine, to reduce noise interference.
Your hull needs to be single skin, if it's double skinned with insulation you need to cut the skin away to expose the hull.

You don't want any through hulls or seacock or anodes in front of it, they cause water disturbance and air to to travel across the face of the xducer while steaming.

When you have the general areas picked, take the xducer out of the casing and put it in a bag with sea water, plug it into the set/black box. Take the boat for a run and get someone to place the xducer and bag flat against the hull and move it about while you watch your sounder, when you have the best picture with least interference, mark the spot.

Once you have a spot picked, clean the hull in the area and rub any high spots down, I used Sikka flex 291i to seat the xducer casing down and filled it with vegetable oil, but you can use a number of liquids as an option.

        Hope it helps
