  • Tomorrow's Forecast?

Was just wondering if anyone was giving it a crack tomorrow? Quite strong westerlies in the morning according to XC & Met Office, but supposedly dying off toward the afternoon (along with the rain!).

I was meant to be going salmon fishing tomorrow but its been cancelled (again!), so hoping to get out on the boat instead.

Strong winds the next 3 days , looks like my shoulder will get a chance to mend properly at least , the weather is all over the place , best to check regular and try and get an idea of what might turn up

big swells next week againmy personal fore cast is that the fishing is knackered for this boat season now

certainly not a hope in xxxx of going out and catching for fun

no more trips with 2 or 3lb fish getting put back because theres so many

the dark nights are nearly here, temperatures are dropping

severe weather warning today, snow will soon be on the radar

but theres been four great months and hopefully it will all start again next april

      its only 7 months away

yeah tell me about it, I've only been out 3 times this year!! :s Feel like its been a total crap season for me. I was working down Leeds for about 6 months so was only back for the weekends (the *cursed* weekends that is!!). Feels like we haven't even had a summer!!

Well, after loking at the forecast again I have changed my mind and Im going salmon fishing tomorrow in Alston! Had to make alternate travel arrangements but may as well make the most of this rain/flooding I suppose!!

            All the best.

I think you are right Duncan. August was a washout last year with weather and there was a huge lack of fish in September. I think the fishing is starting earlier and finishing earlier, maybe this year starting especially early due to the arrival of the mackeral four weeks before they normally arive?
I am rolling about in 6 metre swells at the minute and I am meant to be in the bloody tropics! You can't even lye on the sunloungers on the heli deck! It's just not on!
To rub it in as well Micky was of yesterday and had a boatfull! Great! Oh for a lottery win and retirement

                    Oh Man!

That's no good! no good at all that!

                    Oh waily waily waily

I've still got another week off work and need to get out to test my new gear.

It's pretty wild here at the moment mind you, chucky down rain, howling wind and I'm well inland at Rowlands Gill

Just have to wait and see I suppose

                    cheers

Well, to add insult to injury, I didn't catch a salmon either... bah!!! Spent a whole day wading through the Tyne @ Alston, falling over in the mud, aching & drenched from head to toe and all for nowt. I had a canny one on a spinner, maybe about 10lb or more I would say, then it jumped out the water & the hook came out... gutted! My mate caught a 10lb-er though, of course. Last time we went he had a 17lb-er! It was a beast! I, of course, had nothing!!

Oh how I would have preferred to have been out on the boat though... sigh...

Hope I can get out soon, this season for me has been absolutely dire. Although, I supose I did catch my first ling this year.
