Great pics , I've seen the whales and the dolphins , can't wait to have one of those swimming round the boat

Any doubters should remember that a porbeagle was hooked on a spinning rod at blyth pier not so long ago 2 years I think and was on local news with video evidence

awesome pics mate, wonder what it would have weighed! That's what i mentioned to Richy after he posted his pics having a swim from Stingray. As the water warms up, and plenty of mackerel, well, there's always a chance of one of those not far away. They infrequently turn up in the nets not far from shore, and some times displayed on the fish quay. Me and my mate Ken spent half a day last year in September about 2-3 miles out with balloon floats and a gutted mackerel trying for one, but nowt showed up, but will try again once I get my new engine.

Cracking pics Codhw, thanks for sharing

Here's one that was boated off Whitby in 2006. Some will recognise Richard (Spotty Dog) Ian Burrett (Onyermarks) and Dave Morton who organized the trip

Last year the lads in their boats were fishing just off Whitburn when a basking shark went past their boats. My mate was totally papping his pants as it was bigger then his boat lol.

story is in the shields gazette tonight, alongside some lads getting rescued from rocks at souter, they may have thought differently had they known there were a few sharks kicking about!

                  Shark pictures

Great pictures, hope you don't mind but we've taken them and put them on the Morecambe club web site. I live in Morecambe but have a boat at Amble and a lot of us fish there from time to time.
It's caused quite a stir and some of our lads will now be **** scared of fishing the east coast. I have heard of some anglers down in Filey who claim to be targeting porbeagle but I'm not sure they've landed any. Suspect a leg of pork with a meat hook may be the best bet.

It made it onto the national news, just heard it reported on Planet Rock
It's a thin line that seperates an Angler from a madman standing on the beach in january at midnight in -5 degrees with a northerly wind blowing in your face

Glad you guys have enjoyed the pics etc I didnt expect it to cause such a stir its been in the shields gazette, sunderland echoe and I think the Norther echoe and Paul one of the lads on the boat was asked to be interviewd on radio Newcastle it even got a mention last night on Tyne Tees TV with the pictures and all. I have now recorded collected and filed away all of the paper reports in my fishing memorabialia file. It will take sometime to wipe the smile off my face the only thing is now how do we top thatCheers
