I\'m interested in getting a boat fo use fishing off the NE coast, tyne/st.marys etc.

What sort of boat would be suitable for this? What sort of boat does everyone use??

Thanks for any help you are able to give.

      Hi Stuey,
in reply to your question it all depends on the type of fishing you want to do and how far out you wish to travell, and of course how much money you wish to spend, we all have different types of boats, but quite a few of us on here have boats at royal quays, if you fancy having a look doiwn there at our boats let me know it will give you some idea on on whats out there and how much they cost both to buy and maintain, running costs etc

thanks for that bob. I\'m not intending on going too far out. Not got any experience of boat fishing so going to take it easy. What sort of boat is an example of something ideal for going a few miles out i.e. 3 mile maximum?

I\'ve heard you don\'t have to go out far to find cod, like half a mile off the back of St. Marys lighthouse.

        cheers

probally sounds like something say upto about 20 foot and an outboard motor might suit you, something you can tow and save mooring fees which can work out expensive, rievers are a good boat, Marc on the board has one, the main thing as with every thing is cost and how much you wish spend either new or second hand??

If you want to have a look around a Reiver your more than welcome to. I do have a trailer for it to take it out and about but I keep it moored in the Royal Quays as the fishings good, marina\'s good and the lads down there are great.

The Reivers are built locally aswell, By Alan Craggs up art Stanley.
