  • After last night I've a few quid to spend on a boat.

I thought after winning a few quid I might look for a newish fishing boat.

    Any ideas.......

Where do you keep it mate?

Is it an outboard, with power tilt?

Lock a load of chavscum in the hull and give them all oars, eco-friendly and society friendly power.

Money numbers are mind boggling , even winning £165,000,000 wouldn't be enough to buy a boat like this one belonging to Andrey Melnichenko.

mate of mine is a director at Sunseeker - budget about a million quid per metre once they get 20 metres plus!

Then budget again for the running costs , I was told one was costing £4000 a week to keep , and that dosn't include depreciation

i was talking to people at the boat show in london a few years back and they were telling me that running costs [fuel not included] are 10% of boats value per year, so based on a "cheap " £1million one it costs 100k per year to run, bring that down to our level of say 10k boat, running costs about £1000 per year...

                          is this about right ?

Well, it might pay the marina costs.

These big boats are nice to look at sure, but how practical are they ? I dont think I have enough braid left on my reel to reach the sea !! never mind the fish
