  • engine problems and bad day for pegasus

    went out yesterday what a nightmare first bit of bad luck was my friends rod and reel went for a swim then another fell over and hurt his arm not to bad though he fished on this was at the first wreck had some makrel and i got a cod decided to move just got going the revs started dropping and picking back up would nearly cut out near 2000 revs then just pick back up would dirt in the fuel do this it sounded like fuel starvation we had to keep it at 1500 revs and limp back in it was still dropping revs then picking back up but would'nt nearly cut out anyone got any ideas

                Might be a loose hose in the fuel lines so it's sucking in air. Maybe the engine management has put it in "limp mode".

                Is it the VW engine? You can buy a fault code reader on fleabay for about £20 I think.

                    its a vw diesel im hopeing its just dirty fuel going to drain it out in the morning and change the filters i'll have a look for a fault reader

                      Before you ditch the fuel check for loose connections that may be letting air in to the fuel.

                        think kieth is right cars do the same mine did and was a tiny split in pipe sucking in air

                          i'll check for splits aswell would be a nightmare emptying the tank to find out it was a loose pipe
