  • Dealers of bearings

Anyone used any UK dealers for purchasing a cutlass bearing? boat is 10 years old this month and i have had alittle bit more vibration the last 3-4 trips out than normal so going to lift her and do the normal jobs but going to change the cutlass bearing when i am on as this was looking abit worn last year when out the water.

Anyway since its a "one off" bearing just wondered if anyone had purchased one from UK dealers before...i am after one for a Arvor 18 2001 model.

    Northeeast1,

Lake Engineering manufacturer stern gear and marine propellers for yachts and boats.

you need your sizes, Arvor will supply that if you don't already have them.

    hope it helps

Few people said that ASAP not sued them before but will give them a buzz for a price, may as well change it as not been done in 10 years and when its out means can check the shaft and do all the other under the boat jobs.

          Going with ASAP dealers.

Are the bearing sizes listed i.e 30mm by 75mm the dia of the shaft and the lenght of the bearing or is it the dia of the bearing housing and the bearing lenght?

Going to order one and have it ready before i lift out..i am shocked to see so many people on a google search requesting information from Arvor and the boat dealers for them to be told "no idea what the shaft size is" etc

Anyway its not a must do job has has to be done straight away, next bad weather weekend (should not have to wait long then) and will have her lifted for the job done and the standard spit and polish, only been 14 months since her last one so wont need a great deal of rubbing down and paiting.

            NE1,
you may need to check your shaft tube size aswell, if you haven't already, for the O/D of the brass bearing (shell size) it is incated on the other link I posted as an example.
30x75 is shaft size and length.
if i remember, the lad opposite me changed his, I think originals are nylon type !....maybe not
maybe drop a post on here for any tips etc.
            Arvor Boat Owners

nowt worse starting a job, strapped for time, fish all over and then .... it doesn't fit.

            another supplier

            just found this
