While the weather has been crap, i decided to fill some time in making some booms for fishing shads etc:
I had some strong cable ties in a drawer collecting dust approx 25cm long so, using a piece of spider wire, the tip heated up to an orange glow with a gas torch, made a hole through the square part of the cable tie for the 50lb line to run through, with a bead each side secured with rig crimps. At the hook length end, another hole using the same method about 5mm from the end to tie the mono line on. Simple, and i'm sure will be very effective. Don't use light weight cable ties as they are not strong enough and will snap where the hook mono line is tied when pulled firmly. Pic to see.
