  • Boat Going, Kayak ??

Got the urge to get myself out in the kayak fishing. The boat is going up for sale soon as I'm not getting the use out if it I thought I would. If I'm not at work the weathers crap and if the weathers good theres no one else to come out. Only managed 4 trips last season and think with the kayak I can have more freedom and a bit fun. The only way to get full advantage of the boat is for it to be in a marina and that runs far to expensive.
So any thoughts on this, any kayakers out there done the switch !

I'm only 2mins from the sea and plentyful kayaking launch spots and inshore fishing marks I would love to try that I could'nt get in the boat. Got my eyes on the ocean prowler 13 looks very stable and if the websites Ive looked at are correct good safe fun. Found the boat to be a bit of a worry at times with launching and retreiving and geting back safe. At least this way, hopefuly, if the worst come I could just head west and get out. :-]

George, You live in a great area for launch spots. The Prowler 13 is an ideal Kayak (unless your larger than the average bloke). Have a look at anglersafloat web site it has all the safety tips and what gear you need. Theres around 30 local lads on who go out locally. Also the scots lads often go out from torness which isnt a bad travel for you.

Have a good look at the site and when your ve got what you need just look in the lets meet section for planned trips.

Cheers mate had a look at that site before, very good info. looks a good sport to get into and no hassle launching and things. Theres a few prowlers on ebay at the mo but all down south.

        change

Hi George i made the change, for exactly the same reasons as you i bought a big game last year and sold it a few weeks ago and im after some thing like a p13 now and your right nearly everything is 200 plus miles away. met some really good guys with yak and you will get all the help you will ever need from them and the site. but im still hankering after a trailer boat to fish your part of the world , let me know if you need crew for a fishing trip.
