Two kayakers fishing off the coast of Teesside had to be rescued after one lost a paddle and began drifting towards rocks on Teesside.

seems to be a lot of these kayak fisherman coming astray lately dont they have to take lessons or can any fool just go buy 1 then jump into sea seems crazy to me dont they have there paddles fastened down,

same can be said for boats big tel any one can buy one and set off no training required,unlike scooter motor bikes cars

To be fair mate we do carry all the safety gear and most of us have a paddle leash so you can't loose a paddle, also carry a spare just in case.

Don't know the full story but to label us fools is a bit harsh, like Jeff 01 kayak has pointed out some go out on boats with no training or safety gear

We seen the RFA chopper 9 miles out searching the area off Blyth today, it was up for over an hour so not sure what was going on there.

Depends on a lot of factors,only as safe as you make it, majority of water users are aware of the risks and take precautions to minimise them however as we all know sh$t still happens and we are lucky to have help at hand when needed. ...............Dave.[kayaker/boat angler]
