  • First boat trip advice needed

Hi, I'm going on my first boat fishing trip next week from royal quays and was wanting advice on what are the best type of rig to use and also what would be the best bait to buy. In regards to rigs is there a good make/type of pre made rigs to buy or is it best to make my own.

If it's your first trip I'd go for shop bought rigs if I was you ,I still use them now ( when I get the chance ) ,early season and if fishing inshore hokkais seem to do well as do Royd shrimp lures , flowing traces of around 6 foot baited with crab or loads of mussel also do the trick .
Hope this helps mate, and welome .
    Steve.

Welcome to the forum mate , a phone call to the skipper of the boat you are going out on, he'll give you the info you're after for the type of fishing you will be doing...

Good advice that , ring the skipper mate and he should put you right on most things.
If you're wreck fishing you'll go through a lot of gear so be prepared.
