British Summer Time could be a thing of the past, the idea of following the EU way of thinking is going to be voted on soon, the EU way is darker morning's, lighter nights...guess it will be good for a fw short hours after work mid week.

      Bst

Cant see the darker mornings troubling Norman its always the middle of the night when SlinkyKate slips from her moorings and leave's the marnia.
Will the lighter nights mean longer days out than the normal 12 that we sometimes do Richy?

they can't make the days any longer than they are so I don't see what difference it can make , never could understand why they messed with the clocks

I ouldn't mind, it would mean I would be less likely to get mixed up with the tides occasionally.

Who gets to vote? You can bet it wont be us mere peasants. It will be those idiot MEP's and our home grown MP's who will vote on what happens.

I like the idea of an extra hour or two’s daylight after work. As Ritchie says it will give us more opportunities to fish after work or longer sessions. We often fish until dusk and get back to the marina when its dark.

think the whole idea is a complete waste of time - and money - lets face it when the public sector get involved in absolutely anything it'll cost us billions

an extra hours light in the evening might be good but sunrise at 9 to 9.30 in the morning sounds a bit rubbish - that'd be 10.30 in northern scotland

if they want to do it on the continent, all well and good, they are further south than us and may well see more benefits

Its been tried before and failed - between 1968 and 1971, and a greater increase in accidents in the morning was the main reason why we went back to good old GMT - and there's 10 times more cars on the roads now. I'm sure every one will love being gridlocked in the dark at 8 oclock on a monday morning when some tailgaiting numpty causes an accident

If it ain't broke, don't waste a shed load more money we haven't got trying to fix it

Ideas thought up by people who work in well lit offices, they should try working on a building site, in the middle of winter, waiting for it to get light so you can see what you are doing....

crikey, that would mean we'd have to wait late to get out in the height of summer, may not even get out until as late as 3.00am ... half way through the day .... !
