        if it's similar to that I wouldn't stick anything over 10hp. 5 to 8 will do it grand

        anything bigger willy just pull the back end down as it tries to crawl onto the plane and will make it very unstable

        at 16' the max hull speed is going to be around 6.5knots - a 5hp will do that easily, an 8 will do it with a lot less work for the motor do and still have more power in reserve if you need it to punch a strong tide

        anything bigger engine wise is just going to gobble petrol, not make you go noticeably faster and reduce stability

          think you may have some sort of skiff. im runing a 7.5hp and and there is plenty of power even with a big tide. there is a craking engine for you 5hp air cooled so no inplers to go rong a very soild engine. i had one before i got the 7.5hp as i have a river with very strong tides to contend with
