Me and 3 old Pals went over to Drummore at the M.o.g. in search of some Tope at the weekend.
With it being close to the end of the season we were expecting it to be hard going, but the weather and sea conditions could not have been any better for the time of year, flat calm clear seas and blue skies all day.
We went out on "Go West" skippered by Spike and first stop was feathering for fresh mackerel for bait which were a bit scarce, but after an hour or so we had enough to get us going, so off to the Tope marks.
Anyway to cut a long story short, i caught 2 Tope 15lb. and 30lb. on a 6-12 lb class rod. which isn't
spectacular for the mull, but my mate Neil Hooked and landed a gorgeous 75lb female.
First pic is my 30lber second pic is Neils 75lber.
All fish returned alive.
