Now been informed the pump is no longer manufactured, so the new pump i got last week is the replacement model, this needs an adaptor plate which is £140.00 + vat . but Storrar say they will let me have it for what they pay which is £70.00 + vat . Hopefully all will be sorted by the weekend and its fishing all the way........Total cost £540.00....

thats a right kick in the "coco pops" mate however you can now go to sea knowing you have sorted the job properly, and not lookin at the pump every 5 minuteshowever, just in case, dont forget a bucket happy sailing/fishing

It it makes you feel any better the frost has made a couple of the blades brital and showing cracks so i have ordered a new one but not at the cost your talking about for a full pump....mine was only £14 with p&p..will fit it at the weekend then its only needing a clean and to wet a line.

Wish it was just the impeller on mine Richy, have a look at the impeller cover plate, if it says F7B-903 they no longer make that pump, its replaced with the F7B-9.

Jester, that’s an expensive bit of metal; just like lead, the cost keeps going up. Storrar sound to have been pretty decent sourcing the adapter at costs and once it’s fitted hopefully all your problems are over. Good luck getting it sorted.

Richie, which site did you get your impeller from?

Sounds like that Elbow Grease will be needed at the weekend Richy, Weather permiting.

Well the saga is over, i've been down tonight with a torch and got the new adaptor plate and pump fitted. No leaks, well there should'nt have been anyway, so i feel like a big weight has been lifted. Hope Saturday's forcast is correct, cant wait to get out.....
