been to leeds today and the chinese wholesalers. Got squid from them same stuff in the tackle shops for £1.39 a box and to try a 1kg bag of frozen whole baby octopus for £2.99 which has about 30 in the bag - has anyone tried baby octopus as bait.

Never tried them, but i would imagine they are very similar to squid both are cephalopods. Tie them on with cotton and leave their testicles dangling...oops i mean tentacles dangling.
thats twice now since christmas you have mentioned it - let it go. LOL.
they are whole octopus about the same size as a squid and un gutted so you can only try - the other thing they had there were bags of spanish makeral which were about 6 inches long and looked like a short fat mackeral we catch, again un gutted so could be a good emergency early season bait fished whole.
