We saw some of the kayak lads were out around StMary’s, when we drove to the Royal Quays marina - I’ll keep an eye out for their reports. Oddly, the car park was almost empty and we soon spotted why; the water was covered in ice and we were going nowhere. To make it worse, we drove home along the seafront when the sea was like glass.
One boat came back in to the marina mid afternoon crunching and grinding through the ice, everyone grimaced like it was the sound of bones breaking.

Spring must be getting closer as the marina is starting to get busy, we spent more time chatting than getting any work done. Hello to Blue Jasper, Bill and others and thanks for the advice and guidance Norman, I hope you got all your woodwork completed before it was too cold for the oil to dry.

We fished the comp today, caught zero on bait but the shads meant we landed a few cod, Jim (Topfly) christened his new rod with 3 cod to win heaviest bag, Bert & myself managed 2 fish each so we managed to win boat average. Skull was fishing aboard another boat, he won heaviest fish with a 6lb+ cod.

            Well done Jim & Skull.
            Cheers, Keith.

Me and my dad took the Bonnie Lass out of Sunderland today, It was fantastic.

We didn't fish but gave the boat a good run. The chaps next to us had a stack of cod and sea bass. I was little envious.

We made a list of little jobs to do, I've order my new rod and I can't wait.

It's nearly hear again, I know because Asda has it's spring collection in but the missus can't buy any of it because I'm keeping all the cash for 2 stroke oil ad petrol.

Anklebiter, where abouts on the marina is the bonnie lass moored ? Was the fish caught by rod or in the nets.

We were about 3 mile out, the water was pretty clear, strangely the fish were taking the shads right on the bottom.

Jim, great day and great company as you say, we always share our gear just like you always share your sarnies .
                      Cheers, Keith.

It's now moored just down form the ramp in the drty corner on the fourth pontoon along.

The lad who caught the fish had a Seahog Samurai. He was using cod nets. The sea bass were a cracking size.

I'm going to look into gett a cod net but I'm not sure on the regualtions.

Say hello, if you see me down there. If it's a older bloke on the boat then it will be my dad (Norman) he will talk all day.

I saw you down there sunday, the red and white boat, i was stood at the top of the ramp as you came up with your dad, i'll be down this weekend hopefully fitting a new water pump to the boat. Just look for the boat with 2 legs pointing skyward from the engine compartment...

Ha Ha, I will look out for you.
I've got a adjustable spanner if you need it. They are great if you need to round off nuts.
