  • Not Quite the Weather at the Tyne

Not looking the best this weekend for weather around the Tyne. Saturday 23 Oct 2010)

Especially dissapointing since there are good reports of catches for those that do manage get out .... seems the fish are far more hardier than us mere humans

Seems if you can get out there then Shads are doing well, unfortunately you`ll find it difficult to buy any as I`ve snapped up the world supply in readiness for next season

Never mind it`s still good to post and at least think of a day afloat.

all the best lads ........ ps looking forward to halloween this year ........... (at SJP )

I know what you mean, it's a long time to tie traces and make weights. Before we know it we'll be putting the beach gear away, servicing and polishing the boats then cursing the weather.

I am all stripped down for the winter now, being on a 5am start with work you release how cold and dark it is now, still as you say some fish out there still feeding so worth a bash but for me i am a good weather fisherman.

It’s not surprising that you find it cold then.

                  Have you been skating yet?

Two weeks until i go, 2 days at sea and by then am sure snow will be on the ground but i am sure if i am lucky to hook one it ill soon warm me up, if i dont hook one i will be back until i do land one..its my 2010-2011 mission now to land a skate over 100lb and i wont stop trying till i do.

Thanks to the lads on the JFK i have a nice mix of mackerel and coalie for boat, all i have in my freezer is 1 draw of food and 3 draws of full fish bait

The standard sight at the marina in off season time, lot more free births and not a person to be seen walkng around the pontoons, must be very boring on nightshift during the winter in that tower...but before they know it, it will be "Royal Quays this is Slinky Kate, Requesting lock out" at 5am in the morning followed by Stingray and 6.30am

Arr wont be long and lets hope all them cod we chucked back this year grow the standard two poud plus and we will have some nice 6-7lb fighters on our hands next season.
