Its my birthday at the weekend, and we have organised to go out baot fishing. There are 12 of us going and the boat is supplying Rods and reels and we are bringing the tackle, and bait.

Most of us fish, but don't go boat fising often, so will need to be sorting out all the tackle this week. Any suggestions as to what rigs we will need? We are going wreck fishing for 8 hours, so was just going to pick up a load of cod feathers and bait them with Squid, or Worm.

Also this is a long shot, but as none of us boat fish, we do not have any leads, reckon we will need about 8oz leads, and as they are expensive and we will not have much use for them, is there anyone with a load of spare leads sitting about that would be willing to participate in some sort of arrrangement, where I can borrow them, and replace whatever is lost?

Just thought I 'd ask before i went and bought a lot.

what i normally do is pop into my local tackle shop and ask for £20 worth of boat rigs, that way you get a good selection, as for bait i usually take some squid and sometimes a couple of bags of rag. i would get a few fresh mackeral from the local supermarket to cover you if there's none about as you'll probably stop to catch a few for bait. im not a expert at boat fishing so i hope this helps you a bit, im sure some of the other lads will help you out better.

Best thing you can do is ring the skipper he will put you straight on exactly what you need its his job day in day out so he will know better than anyone
