  • Maybe Tomorrow!

After consulting at least 10 different weather sites it looks as if tomorrow is going to be my first day off on Growler for two months! Excited doesn't come close! I hope the fishing will be near the same standard as the last few weeks that have been reported but I am not overly expectful! I think with the water having it's first big stir up and a big tide things will be against us but I can't wait to give it a go for a lunker ling at first light. I have got a load of new pirks to lose/use anyway!
I know I am going to get earache of the missus as I have been setee bound all week with a throat infection but able to go fishing on saturday after a miraculous recovery!!!

Slight sea getting better as the day goes on, panning a long day as Sunday will be a short trip due to work. All we need is the fish to start biting, going out this afternoon but only few miels off so i will get a good feel of the weather then.

I would think the water will be well coloured after walking along Shields pier Thur, it was like coke sea side of the pier.

Good luck anyway, think i am going to try the wrecks of Blyth and Newbig this Sat

I had a look out this afternoon Graham , it was lumpy as hell, I got up to Boulmer and out to the Hornchurch but it was more of a boating trip than a fishing trip , 4 miles out the sea was all over the place with the swells coming from the south east and the wind coming from the west it was creating peaks about 6ft going up to a point , interesting when one of those peaks rose up under the stern . I felt safe enough , but it wasn't ideal for fishing , the lead wouldn't hold bottom and the drift was across the tide .. made it frustrating and uncomfortable to the point that I only bothered with a couple of drops and only had one small coalie to show for it. It was nice to get out in the boat again though , seems like ages since I was out.
It should be better tomorrow though ....... so go get em

We got out for a couple of hours and found the same conditions you describe. Hugging the shore didn’t help much but kept us out of the worst of the wind.
What was the water like where you were? It was filthy after the recent blow down here.

It's murky up here too Kev , the water in the marina looks like mud and it stays that colour all the way to the sea where it thins out a bit but still has a milk chocolate tinge to it , a few miles out it looks a lot cleaner , but I was in no mood to look over the side as the lead was going down to see how far I could watch it .
