Has he never heard of WD40??? , my cheapo pliers have seized up loads of times , a squirt of WD40 and they loosen up a treat , better than they were originally
So far I've lost a rod and reel and a fileting knife that I can remember over the side of the boat ( I'm sure there's more but can't remember what ) there's no way I'd pay that kind of money for something that is likely to end up going the same way.

WD40 great stuff, cleans rods on a cloth, oils reels, unsticks pliers, scissors crimps and all else of things ... and also doubles as a bait attractant .... class stuff... never be without it !
