as above both in fact ...watched a small fishing boat fishing in the dark just north of the piers,
well it was about 9 15pm was getting darker by the second and this boat had no navigation lights ... then they came in up the tyne and started fishing .
pilot boat had a word as someone reported them to the coast guard shipping was quite busy between the piers tonight lots of traffic ......!

nissan car transporter would certainly give you a bad head if that hit your boat .


YOU NEED NAVAGATION LIGHTS IN THE DARK / IV GOT LIGHTS ON MY BOAT HA HA !
and a radio

I went out at 5am Friday morning (with nav lights) and must admit the first hour was just keeping away from all the big ships. Weather was great 12 miles out mind

On the way in (about 4:30 ish) noticed a boat tearing out of the tyne well over 6 knots. I know I am still new to all this but still cannot believe that some people either do not do any research on boat safety etc or just ignore it.

Hi Joostan, we passed you in “Wor Lass” on the way in on Friday and saw the other boat hammering out, bouncing over the waves. He looked to be going faster than the 10 knot limit before the groyne but at least had plenty of space and there were no sailing dingies around upset with his wake. I know what you meant though; people should take the time to learn a little about the environment they’re going to take a boat out in. And don’t get me started on the jet-skis who seem to have their own rules.

I had child labour aboard on Friday. Well, he was driving until we got back to the marina when he was let loose with a filleting knife on the cod and macks we kept. He didn't do a bad job and it looks like I'm relegated to deck scrubbing. I was in a bit of bother when I was head down, filleting a couple of mackeral for bait and without looking lobbed the guts in the general direction of the sea. The little 'un was in the way and complained for some reason.
