Launched at Cullercoats Sunday morning at 8am, left the boat in the water while I dropped off trailer then park the Landie up on the main road. By the time I got back she was sitting on the sand in shallow water. Tried pushing and heaving and swearing, but would she move, nar. So I phoned the wife to come down and lend a hand, but in the mean time, two lads up on the clif top came down to help, then my wife turned up. After many attempts we finally got her back afloat,(what a weight) and many thanks to the two lads who were up to their knees in water with their shoes on and a promise of fish for their efforts, and of cause the wife, I set off. Arrived at the yellow can of whitley and decided to drift fish to beggin with. Soon got board with jigging, so reeld up quite a few turns and put rod down against gunnels, within seconds while rumaging through my tackle box I heard a clunck, thinking uh uh, looked around, no rod. well, either a good fish must have followed the lure and cod feathers up, or snagged the bottom at the bottom of a swell but that was the last i'll see of that outfit Still, I had my very light rod and fixed spool loaded with braid with me, so set it up with frozen crab. From the word go, was straight into fish after fish, best around 5lb, but superb fun with the clutch set nice, they fought like the clappers taking line at times. Finished fishing at 11am and and home by 12am without any further probs. Kept 12 cod and returned about 15 sizers, so it wasn't a total mare
Oh! one other thing, I dropped me camera now the shutter doesn't fully open, so only took one pic
