  • Baccaruda First Trip.

First time out in the boat today with a total of around 25 miles done. I was really pleased with the way she handled a nasty southerly chop, 15 mph with spray flying everywhere and wipers on full speed and just ploughed through. We tried wrecks 8 miles out but only mackerel and one cod to show. Loads of small coalies and whities but the main aim was to try the boat out, so all in all a good day, and an air show thrown in........Buy a Merry Fisher you wont be disappointed...

Great to see your back afloat Chris, pleased everything running well. I'll be down your way tomorrow for the airshow with the family aboard, and if the grandbairns get board, we'll have a bash for the mackerel just off Roker pier. Will give you a shout on chnl 6, would love to see your new pride & joy

Plenty mackerel off roker arthur, but unfortunatly i'm taking the missus to the airshow tomorrow and she's a landlubber, which is a good thing i suppose . So i'll be watching all the lads in the best seats from the shore. Have a good day out with the family mate and let me know how you get on......

The diesel does about 18mph max but makes up for it in fuel consumption. The Reiver Sportrman i had would do 30 mph but because of sea conditions i rarely got the chance to do that speed. Plus the added weight of the diesel engine makes it more stable.
