  • Trailer Boat Fishing Mull/Luce Bay.

    Hi guys,
I am going to "The Sands of Luce" caravan site in August and am going to take my trailer boat. It is the first time I have been away with my boat.

I was hoping there would be others who have done this who could give me any advice on things like the best launch spots, what conditions needed to get out, species worth fishing for and areas where to start.
Any help at all would be great as I am only there for a week, so not much time to learn whats what.

    Thanks in advance,
    Geoff

Hello Geoff mate me and Mick (casper71) were across on that campsite in may this year they are so geared up for boats over there launches just about everywhere from beaches etc and I noticed that due to the geography of the place you would nearly always find sheltered weather either one side or the other, the campsite was good too the bar was a little funny with outsiders might just have been us but it seemed as tho they didn't like strangers lol
can't give you any advise on fishin but I'm sure snatcher will fill you in, enjoy hope the weather is kind

Geoff , I havn't fished there , but it's on my "to do" list , there is loads of information about the place on WSF in the scottish section , do a search and have a good read. Tope , bass, pollock and assorted dogfish are the main species but there are many , many more species to try for.
Have a look at "onyermarks" website too , they are 16ft charters fishing that area.
Best of luck when you are there

Thanks for your advice guys. The bar is one of the selling points that the site uses, so I will have to see.
I have left it a bit late to get ready for the holiday as I have been doing some work on the house and have only just got to a point where I can leave it and get ready for holiday.

If anyone else has anything at all to add I would be very grateful!
        Cheers,
        Geoff
