    Wonder if any one on here could help me out my mate plugged his antenna cable into his gps unit and the cable snapped the unit is old its a lowrance globalmap nav IIA He tried to tape the cable back together but it still wont work think its because its foil lined cable had a look about for a new cable but im stuck he really wants the gps back workin because it has 200 plus wrecks stored anybody got any ideas on what to do thanks dean

    try doing a search on ebay they have a lot of cables on there, failing that try maplins near the metro centre they should be able to sort you out. I hope this helps

      Take the GPS unit and cable to Jack Southerns at North Shields and he will sort you out, very helpful people!!!!!!.

        sounds the same stuff ya use for coax on cable tv etc probs thinner tho maybe one the tv shops supply it try harry parrys in sunderland chester road or theres one in park lane used to be called red radio shop if not tv shop further up near post office collection point.


        if the cable is only broke get a 2 way connector and join it up easy really consists of 2 coax plugs simular or smaller type ya use goes into back of ya tv or cable box etc fit on each broken end and joined with the splitter, reason why there might be no signal is ya carnt let the inner core be touching the outer cable(foil stuff) on the coax when joined as yous tried fixing

                I blow mine up last year and lost every mark, i not use a card and download the info every few months as a back up.

                  Hi Dean, it is possible to have any gps unit 'interrogated' to retreive the data. Even data from dead machines can usually be recovered. Give CTC marine a call if the cable fix dosent work.
