  • Horrible Sea Today :(

Well, if anyone was planning on going out today let me save you a wasted journey, the sea is terrible. The waves were crashing over the wall at Seaton Sluice, worst Ive seen in a while. There was white water even in the harbour itself!

Total waste of effort for us today, again! When will the nice conditions come back??

Oh well, back to bed anyways.

There's a canny swell running down south shields pier and the wind is
    howling.
    Cheers, Keith.

True, but when I got up this morning there wasn't a breath of wind so I figured all would be good (especially due to forecast too). Its a total gutter when you live 30 mins or more drive away from the sea and when you turn up the sea is like a ferocious beast. I wish I lived right on the sea.

Anyways, according to Magic Seaweed the swell is meant to die down by Thursday pm / Friday am, so may try again on Thursday evening. Dependent on tides and winds of course.

          All the best.

I would go along for the second tide later on, but I bet it hasn't died down enough to get out of Seaton Sluice and don't fancy another wasted journey!

                sea state

went from amble this morn, long lazy swell, killed the fish catch rate but was comfortable enough to fish in. unlike sat when we could hardly stand up, but had fish a plenty

It was bad at Hartlepool yesterday afternoon with waves coming over the heugh when the tide was only half way up.
I was going to have a go for some Mackeral from the pier but the water was dirty.

Well looks like its 1 more weekend down the pan unless the weather changes, strong north winds most of the week and building on Friday

10ft waves forecast on Surfreport for the weekend. doom and gloom must end soon

10ft waves! Well, we're still going to try Thursday night. Swells of 1.5ft but will the 8pm NE winds make it a no go? Hope not!

Bugger! I was hoping to get out on Friday.
I have spent good weather weekends explaining to my missus that I need to get out as often as possible, as other weekends I will be working or the weather will be wrong, but did she listen?
