Boating lads predictions

Well i am stumped about this weekend, by Wed i often know is a a yes or no but i just cant decide, strong north winds up until Friday then all over the shop, nw, west, north east west again fri night and sat sat,sun and Mon planned for trips but in the hands of the weather still.

Looks like they'll be a bit of a swell running. Hopefully not to much though.

See what you mean Richie, there are no 2 days alike. You'll be a clever man to plan anything around that methinks.

We fished on Monday and the drift was all over the place, every time. It didnt fish well all day until we were about to come back. We stopped on our last wreck and caught some lovely full bellied cod on shads up to about 8lb. The drift was E-W though on the ebb

I was hoping to get out on Sunday, but its not looking good! :s North-Easterly winds predicted on Met Office! Grrrr.. Saying that it seems to change every day so could turn out alright yet!

Since this is my first season on the boat, I was wondering is it always so hit & miss like this every year? I realise its still early-ish yet, but I always used to remember May & June as being nice and hot and well, dare I say, summer!! I would have thought the sea would be nice and flat, every weekend out, a few evening trips out during the week etc. etc. but so far its just a big fat no every time we try. Harrumph!

It was ell that got the earful when he rang em today. Something I said on the blog a looong time ago when we wanted a berth in there but objected to the daft list of made up requirements despite it still going to cost us 4 grand year

think I mentioned the possibility that a historic wooden boat would obviously offend the gin swilling platforms that decorate the place. Never mentioned them by name, but someone must have pointed it out to them

not to worry though, plenty more fish in the sea and have heard a new marina on the Tyne is in the offing right on their doorstep. can see them losing quite a few punters when their monopoly vanishes

I would say it is looking alot more like it will be a go, the sea choppy at the moment but not a big swell, when that strong west/NW wind hits Friday (if they right) i can see a late start on Sat being a go and Sunday a defo go.

Going to take the boat 1/2 mile out Friday after work and drop anchor for the plaice sow ill get a good feel of the sea conditions then.

Just decided i am out both days..weather not going to be great but fishable...make final call when i am at sea Friday for a few hours.

It wont be a easy days fishing due to a fast drift and lazy swell but its one more weekend we will make it out to sea
