  • jfk two what a day what a week

fishing this week has been brilliant with anywhere from 80 to 200 fish a day,
today we had alistar from northumbrian water out. and although a touch breezy off to the wrecks, and it was fish from the off, 3 and 4 rods in at once some double headers.

and a lovely stamp of fish 3-5 pounds
this happened on every wreck we visited 4-5- sometimes 6 rods into fish and a lot of fish in the 4-8lbs bracket.
some of the fish nudging double figures
ended up with over 150 fish onboard, everybody well happy,
especially phil Gibson took this lovely cod just on the 15lbs mark nice one phil
all in all a cracking days fishing and a stunning weeks fishing

Nice one Alan that's a cracking catch considering the conditions. As you'll see we struggled this morning!

Well done on the 15lber phill
Beat them in their own back yard

Aye things are looking good even in all this wind ! a few settled days and they will be some vastly improved catch reports ,not very far off by the looks of things Allan ? Were the better catches off the ground or the wrecks ?
                  Cheers Bert

hi bert both have been spot on. but slightly better stamp from most wrecks. the big bonus is you can do both and still get plenty nice fish, it seems to be alive at moment, we have certain bits of ground that we work that, also give up fish into double figures as well, so its win win win at the moment.

If you can catch in gusty conditions then you've got it made this year it just relentless strong gusty westerlies week after week ,,well at least the water is clear ,inshore yesterday the water was chocka with plankton and with the pods of dolphins that are knocking around it seems like the sea is alive with life at the moment, could it be with the decline in the north shields fishing fleet ?
                      Cheers Bert

same again today bert west gales but lads ended up with 127 cod and 4 ling. todays club count there fish as part of there competitions
mostly from hard ground marks, all week has been mostly west gales apart from 1 day are so .there's no doubt less local fishing fleet is helping. [but I don't think they ever had a big affect on the fishing] I think its the decline in the bigger offshore fleet. that's having the biggest affect on the fishing.[allowing more fish to come in ]
but you still need to stop the Danes from taking sand eel in huge quantities just for fish pellets and fertilizer
