Bear in mind it's illegal to sell fish without a license.
It's amazing how many friends & work mates etc become fish lovers when they find out you go boat fishing, not to mention those white bearded fellas that pitch up for weigh ins etcCheers, Keith.

I have only got a 60hp i get about 6mpg but last year the weather was very kind and the mid channel wrecks needed hitting he he he
i suppose its down to where and how far you have to travel During the weymouth meet just a trip to the shambles from the harbour is over 7.5 nm so i suppose thats why the fuel bill was high all the traveling

I normally keep 2 fillets for me & a few decent fish for my older neighbours in my square, after the last few trips i have become a water based meals on wheels.
Must save them a small fortune as its around a fiver for a fish lot these days.
All excess fish go back unless foul hooked.

I hardly eat any fish , I just like catching them I keep most of the decent sized cod I catch and any ling that won't go back , but everything else goes back.
The cod I bring home are cleaned filleted and boned and given to friends and neighbours , I often wonder why I do it mind when I'm up to my armpits in cod guts, skins and sh"t
I never freeze anything other than one or two mackerel for bait.

We often throw cod back, never see the point of keeping small fish when its a couple of good ones that you want to take home.
I often see people who say I got 10 then you see the fish and they are not worth gutting. Once you cut the heads off and the tail your left with a fish finger.
On the subject of fuel I've always wanted my boat to go fast, but it just won't, it's a plodder. 4/5 knots. Jerremy Clarkson won't be interested.
Now I thought thats embarrasing as the Reivers and Avors wizz past my old fishing boat, but I put a tenners worth of diesel in and it lasts for ages, down to Seaham couple of miles out and a bit dodging about and I still complain.
Well thats a 1.5 BMC engine for you plods along on a thimble of fuel but you need a bit of time on your hands.
Any we we got 4 smashing sized cod off Seaham last Saturday, but the missus won with a sea monster she dragged in then ran on the cabin as I have to de hook and bash..
