the first trip = the first mackeral

set off at 6.30am from r.quays, had a nice motor up almost to whitely, we got small cod almost from the off, two of us using baits the other one using a ripper with daylights, the fishing was steady for about 3 hours,malcolm using the daylights hit a three shot of mackeral then it went quiet we ended up with twelve cod up to 3lb and three tigers(big ones at that)
hope this is a sign of whats to come
