  • Really getting to me now!!!

The weekly Royal Quay's email has stated that the lock refurbishment work is on schedule and should be fully functional for Monday evening. In fairness, the sea conditions have not been great and I guess from a fishing perspective we've perhaps lost about three decent days and I have to confess that rather selfishly I've been hoping for bad weather and sea conditions. It's not that I begrudge anyone else a good day out its just that I dont get so frustrated if the weathers bad.
I'm looking out of my front window and there's a few angling boats out there so I'm seriously frustrated and her who must be obeyed is putting pressure on me to start decorating. Sod it!! I'm off to the marina.

    Yer its flat as again.

Will be out this weekend if the weather is ok...i would not have been out fishing Sat anyway as when i was down the marina, the met office got it right..it was gusting every 5 seconds a right gale.

I`m seriously now thinking of taking up a half yearly berth and keeping the boat on the drive for the rest of the time. Just think of the savings in fees, the savings in lift out and lift in costs and the savings of costs in the boatyard.
It also means I got as much time as I need to do anti foul so saves on a weeks holiday wastage as well.
Who knows I may like the trailboat thing, maybe even take her abroad

Hey this could turn out to be a good thing the lock being down for so long, maybe I`ve just seen the light ...
      Now, where's that trailer magazine ? .......

Sounds great in theory Norman, but anti fouling the boat a trailer is a nightmare. I did one side of Shady this morning, had to wash my hair with white spirits (well the little bit that's left) and my arms are red raw from trying to scrub them clean.
              Cheers, Keith.

if it lives on a trailer apart from a few weeks a year, why antifoul?

that last wee boat I had was nigh on 2 tons all up, trailer it all over the shop, including 400miles up the north west of scotland

really miss it to be honest, ok can be seen as a bit of a faff launching/recovering, but do it a few times and its a breeze

If (when??!!) I get another traily thing, might go for a totally open boat, 20 foot bass boat type thing, full walk around, bags of room

where we go in ardnamurchan I've got my own mooring, launch it and leave it afloat for a fortnight. bliss
