Canman, the Reivers are lovely looking boats and yours should fly with that outboard on the back. Make sure you get all the safety kit on there too and you’ll have some great days out fishing. I'll keep and ear open on the VHF for you and your catch reports.
Oldessox. I launched from Cullercoats a couple of times last year. The slipway has a tight dog-leg at the bottom which may be a problem if you have a long trailer. The sand can be a little soft and you have to driver over it at anything but high water. I struggled with the trailer sinking into the sand during recovery and ended up needing to let air out the tyres to spread the weight until I could move it. I spoke to someone with a similar boat but lighter trailer and said they routinely pull the trailer from the water on a rope without any problems. It was too much for me though.
Access is through a locked gate which you pay the lifeguard to open. There is a life guard hut next to the lifeboat station that opened from the last bank holiday in May last year. You can either pay per day to launch or buy a pass for a year which was about £44. If you get a yearly pass, you get a key for the gat so you can launch at any time, otherwise you’re tied to launching and recovery during lifeguard hours.
