Everyone has there fav i wont use anything else than fireline ulta thin, as never had it snap half way, easy to tie, cuts through the water well and on one of my reels it has been on for 6 years now and still as strong as the day i purchased it.

Loads others on the market and everyone has there fav, 1 tip dont go for a cheap 1 as its like cotton.

You cant go wrong using a good braid, its so much better than mono as you have more feeling when jigging, better bite detection, able to feel the wreck and gives yu a better chance to get free and the mian one for me, less drag so you stay more up and down increasing the chance of fish and reducing the chance of tackle losses.

I have used braid for about 11 years now and will never go back, also use it on my spinning reels. 20lb fireline and have great fun with it but you do lose alot of fish when spinning from a beach as the waves helps chuck the fish more with no give like mono.

alreet bud, berkley whiplash is good i use it all the time throughout the boat season, its of very thin diameter but yet very strong and you can feel even the smallest of bites at depth, 50lb 300yds approx £22 mail order "gerrys of morcambe" or try local tackle shops, good product korky.

I like Fireline, mainly because I’ve used it for spinning where it has proved durable and tangle free. Last season I also tried Whiplash, which seems even thinner than the fireline. The Whiplash appeared a little weak to start with but that turned out to be the blood knot problem. I tested a few knots at home and changing knots made all the difference anto it's strength; I’d defiantely buy then same again. Braid is much more durable than mono and gives far more sensitivity.
I’ve only used 30lb BS, pulling that out of a snag requires a lot of force, far more that I’d put on any fish. Does 50lb BS not just make life harder?
