Go on charter boats like us. If we drown at least it won't be our fault!

It's coming out at the weekend if the forecast is ok, it could do with a lick of paint but really I want to get the engine back on and on properly.to clear the confusion, and my name I'll explain more... I serviced one engine and gave the other a good check, very much the same as you kartonkel I like to make sure they are running, the only difference between what you did to check your engines and me checking mine was I was sat at my berth and you were sat in a bucket... The problem occurred when the boat was in motion! That story is exactly how it happened, I'm not gonna lie to make myself sound bad am i? I told the story because I thought we could all have a laugh about it, my confidence and ability is what got us back safe.

Well I'm not going to lie to you kartonkel, I was fuming when I first read your reply and even more so when you wouldn't drop it. I'm here for the same reasons as the rest of us... To make friends within the sport we love, receive advice and maybe even try to help people out if I can, I'm not here to argue. Yes, I am stubborn and yes, I am always right haha but I spend my working life weighing up risks and possibility/ probability of the outcome which does help toward making decisions out of work. I'd never put my brother or myself in serious danger and I certainly wouldn't put anybody else's life in danger through stupidity. Although I've only owned the boat for 7 months or so, I've been failiarising myself with it for around 3 years I put a lot of faith into it and rightly so, its whats keeping me dry out there but I still don't know everything and probably never will which is why I'll take any advice aslong as it's given the correct way. To be honest kartonkel, you sound like the sort of bloke I need on my side! Experience is invaluable and although is like to think I have most areas covered, that's 1 thing I'll admit I don't have the most of

Well lingking I'm all up for turning this thread into a sh!t happens at sea thread, we've all had them days and as far as I'm concerned, if it all ended well then we should be able to laugh/reminisce. The laughs started as soon as we were safe yesterday, we managed to drag the engine back onto the boat my bro turned round and said, "well at least its not raining"

That boat fire has transformed into a sort of urban legend at Sunderland Marina with many variants to the tale now.
