went out yesterday on a mates boat for a fantastic days fishing. in the water 5 minutes with daylights on and at the bottom got my first fish a mackeral just a loner though. We went towards the can then kept drifting all day and we landed 30+ fish on the boat between us the best was a 7lb cod. there was whiting,coalie,mackeral,red cod and red gurnards all brought in we kept 7 fish amongs us the rest went back in to fight for another day. one of the best spots we found was next to the piers the rods were bouncng all the time with bites. Baits used were mackeral,ragworm,mussel and squid the best results were on the mussel and the mackeral. There was quite a few guys fishing the tyne high up towards the scotswood bridge way as we passed around 7.30 last night on the way back in and we seen the seal hanging about there as well. We had a fantastic days fishing and a great free show thanks to the red arrows doing there bit to support the great north run.
